Kennebec River Range Lights

The Kennebec River Range Lights are the only range lights in New England. Constructed in 1891, the twin 22-foot tall towers are 235 yards apart. The front light is 18 feet above mean high water while the rear light is at 33 feet. Mariners navigating upriver line up on the two range lights to avoid submerged ledge as they pass Ram Island.
