Browns Head Light

Located on the island of Vinalhaven, this lighthouse is accessible by boar or by taking the ferry from Rockland. While the grounds are open to the public, the keeper’s house is said to be haunted and is closed to the public. The tower is open on certain days for those wishing to climb up and see the Fourth-order Fresnel lens that is still in use as an aid to navigation.
